Cecil County Street Car Shootout Season Opener And ProTorque Customers

During the off season in the northeast one of the most successful series of the Mid Atlantic, Northeast states was getting a track upgrade for them to race on, The Finishline Performance Saturday Street Car Shootout at Cecil County Dragway would get some new concrete. Jim Halsey “a contractor himself” had already set into motion the revamp of the track surface by tearing it up to 800+ feet and laying down a full concrete track with a transition to blacktop afterwards, a totally new track. Jim Halsey, a Pro Modified owner / driver in ADRL, IHRA, knows what the track needed to get the most out of some of the quickest cars in the northeast.

The first race of the season was delayed as the track had not yet been finished to handle these cars and the series. The last week in April would suffice albeit a severe chance of rain would halt the action as rounds began. Prior to the opening, ProTorque Torque Converter equipped racers put the rubber down on Friday for a test and tune flowing into qualifying on Saturday created on both days some of the best times and low ET’s of their careers. Some New Personal Best Times are as follows: Craig Pio 4.14 (new track record) Outlaw 10.5, Shawn Zubler 4.24 @ 184MPH Outlaw 10.5, picked up .04 and 9 mph, Tommy Kasper 4.17 Outlaw 10.5, Steve Gorman 4.19 Outlaw 10.5, Bill Dutka Drag Radial new personal best 1.22 60ft 4.62

Granted much work had been done to the cars during the winter months, engines, tuning and more but you have to get the power to the ground and a ProTorque Converters shows it gets it done. Below are some statistics of ProTorque Racers accomplishments at Cecil County in no particular order, we’re just glad they benefited from our Torque Converter.
