The NMCA WEST wrapped up the first race of their inaugural season with the conclusion of the Lucas Oil Muscle Car Nationals at Auto Club Famoso Raceway near Bakersfield, Calif.

The first race of the Flowmaster NMCA WEST Drag Racing Series. 

With championship battles forming early in this year’s four race season, every round win counts, especially when NHRA “Wallys” are up for grabs as a part of NHRA Unleashed presented by Aerospace Components.

In Garrett Turbochargers Pro Street, Greg Seth-Hunter, who qualified fourth in his turbocharged Mustang, defeated number one qualifier Mike Bowman in the semifinals after Bowman had trouble staging the car, and then Seth-Hunter went on to beat the blown big-block powered S10 of John Durden in a 6.61 at 215 MPH to 7.07 at 210 MPH final.

This also marked a new “Personal Best” for Mike Bowman in Pro Street

In the True 10.5′ / Outlaw Drag Radial class, Al Jimenez brought his leaf-spring suspended 1971 big block Camaro to wage war against all in attendance. Al, using his ProCharger F-3R-136 and close to 40 psi of boost, qualified number one and won the race. While doing so, Al and his F-3R-136 crushed the all-time fastest leaf-spring suspension world record by running an unheard of 205 mph blast in the finals!
