The Northeast as much of the country was under oppressive heat over many days during the beginning of July 7th Weekend. The pavement at Cecil County Dragway was not impervious to the blazing temps that swelled up over the Saturday Street Car Shootout Series By Finishline Performance.

Without a doubt, heat, takes its toll on parts like Torque Converters but ProTorque Racing Torque Converters showed their muscle and durability in temps ranging upwards of 130+ degrees on the well managed surface of Cecil County Dragway adding again to the list of clients that now have more winners circle appearances or runner ups and best of for the season.

Inevitably it comes down to a complete effort by teams such as to be mentioned that their work and choice of converters plus the other main ingredients make a sound combination to move through rounds consistently.

Outlaw Drag Radial “ALL Team ProTorque Final” Fox Wins, Dutka Runner Up:

Ricky Fox with his wildly flamed nitroused Mustang took the Win in Outlaw Drag Radial in an “ALL Team ProTorque Final” against Bill Dutka.

Fox also garnered the number 1 Qualifier, Low ET and finished it off with Top MPH throughout the race sessions endning in the final with “Wild Bill” Dutka in his Twin Turbo Malibu. Ricky Fox 0.036 4.77 @ 151 had this race won as Bill Dutka 0.481 11.40 @ 69 had issues on the starting line leaving Fox to run it out for the “W”, this was Ricky Fox’s first win at this series.

Outlaw 10.5 “Steve Gorman, Larry Wood and Billy Mitchell” Outstanding!! :

Outlaw 10.5 is the toughest class at Cecil County, the track is there and the racers are simply TOUGH!. Team ProTorque members took the top three spots in this heavily contested field and put our Racing Torque Converters to the test.

Steve Gorman 0.201 4.34 @ 188 would be beaten on a holeshot by TJ Kasper 0.025 4.39 @ 181, “Kid Kwick” is killer on the tree.

Steve Gorman also collected the number one qualifying spot followed by the stunning ZR1 Corvette of Larry Wood 4.45 @ 173 out of K&K Advanced Door Car Technologies, Larry Wood is best know for his HUGE win at the 2011 Shakedown at E Town.

Billy Mitchell posted an exceptional time for third in the qualifying ladder 4.48 @ 178 and is just making more and more out of his new Corvette with only a few races tattoo’d on it. Mitchell continues to slaughter his ET and MPH with each race. This car is super fresh and progressing well from one of the original “Quick 8” racers of the northeast. Mitchell has been running this evolving class since its inception.

Charlie Boy Micalef , Heavy Street / Big Tire!! :

Although long time big tire / heavy street racer Charlie Boy Micalef couldn’t pull off the victory by way of the dreaded red bulb in the finals against Tim Tarsia, Micalef put up the top spots in all categories.

The Chevelle that has been in many winners circles with Charlie Micalef -0.058 4.62 @ 158 was not dismayed at the loss against Tarsia 0.063 4.79 @ 160.

The New Team ProTorque member has many things to brag about, as in his killer numbers all day long in the blistering heat.

ProTorque Torque Converters proudly recognizes the achievements of our racers on this outing and in this well-known series showing that we stand behind our title “Proven Performance, Guaranteed Reliability, Unbeatable Value” through many versatile Drag Racing classes “Outlaw 10.5, Outlaw Drag Radial And Heavy Street” putting the power down properly and efficiently.
